Autobahn Country Club North Track, Secret Fast Line Through Turn 1 & 2
http://www.separationofcontrols.com Compromise the slower corner for the faster one; turn 1 at Autobahn Country Club North is 85mph apex speed at 1G cornering—significantly fast—and time is saved by maximizing the effective radius (Largest Possible Radius, LPR) and sacrificing a "traditional" line through turn 2, the slowest corner on North Circuit. 99% of drivers take a "traditional" left-side entry, late apex to turn 1, costing time. Watch as the Porsche ahead compromises N1 to set up a traditional turn-in for N2, sacrificing the LPR in N1, and we gain significantly, retaining that time gain through to N3. Conclusion: Maximize your performance through faster corners even compromising a slower corner if that's what it takes. The most important corner on any given circuit is the fastest corner (assuming you're grip limited). Consistency -- How To Become a Better Track Day Driver -- Hooked On Driving
http://www.hookedondriving.com Driving consistent high-skill, high-quality laps on the race track during a high performance driver education event or racing is a key to success and dramatically reduces risk. Novice performance drivers will commonly place "driving faster" as a higher priority over "driving consistently" with disastrous results. You must use skills of concentration and discipline—not pushing beyond YOUR personal skill limit—to successfully drive consistent quality laps; and only then begin to fine tune other skills such as maximizing use of the tire during corner entry phase. Hooked On Driving is a Performance Drivers School, hosting events across the country; all you need is a car, tank of gas and need for speed.
