About the Track

Lime Rock is 1.5 miles long with 7 turns, which former F1 driver Sam Posey once referred to as a "scenic bullring with elevation." Posey had a hand in some of the track's modifications as well. Within a 3-hour drive of the Boston and NYC metro areas, this beautiful track offers a unique park-like setting alongside heart-skipping curves. Lime Rock is a challenging and rewarding circuit as a driver - and a spectator alike!

Lime Rock Track History

Originally opened in 1957, Lime Rock Park has a rich history of American racing, including the 1959 Formula Libre Race. This fabled race was sanctioned by USAC, but permitted drivers to race in whatever they wanted, resulting in a delightful mix of cars and adventurous drivers. Read Chris Economaki's personal account of that day on July 25, 1959 here.

Lime Rock Park has also hosted many other famous racing events, including multiple Trans Am races and SCCA Nationals. A succinct yet exhilarating course, drivers love to recount the speed and challenge they experienced at Lime Rock, especially anyone whose car lifted while racing down that big hill into the diving turn.

Customer Reviews for Lime Rock Park

Historic track that is amazing. Great facility and super clean and up to date.

An historic racetrack in the middle of nowhere, yet the place was packed with automobile and racing enthusiasts. Just a beautiful place to visit.

Great big time track with a family small feel. Easy to camp at. You are not in 'the city' so prepare accordingly. If you enjoy gorgeous views, scenery, clean air, and a historic track, this is a great place to visit.

Jim P

Gorgeous, park like setting nestled in a beautiful Berkshire valley. This historic race track is less than 2.5 hours from Manhattan by car and is always a pleasant experience rain or shine, for anyone who likes to spend relaxing hours laid out on a grassy hillside. The staff have always been extremely pleasant and helpful on all of my visits.

I’ve been going to Lime Rock for 13 years doing HPDE’s there. It’s a lovely racing park. Nice amenities.

Lime Rock Park is one of those tracks that never gets old. I’ve been coming here for many years, and every visit reminds me why I love it so much. The setting is beautiful, the layout is fast and flowing, and there’s just something special about being there early in the morning with the smell of race fuel in the air.

Awesome experience! Beautiful race track and love the no grandstands! Staff was professional and kind. One of the most fan friendly tracks I've ever been to. Highly recommend.
